The Durham Bulls and Carolina Hurricanes have partnered to bring Bunch of Jerks Night to Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday, August 23.
Following a memorable partnership in 2018 when the DBAP hosted the ninth-largest paid crowd in stadium history, and an Eastern Conference Finals run in the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs for the Hurricanes, the Bulls will celebrate Hockey Night at the DBAP, complete with specially-designed jerseys. The team will wear black jerseys and hats on field, modeled after Carolina's alternate black uniforms. Before and throughout the contest game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off, with all proceeds benefiting the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.
The name "Bunch of Jerks Night" is an ode to the Hurricanes' 2019 rallying cry, as their Storm Surge postgame celebrations caught the ire of a hockey commentator, leading to him referring to the team as a "Bunch of Jerks." To celebrate that notion, the ballpark will host a blend of baseball and hockey promotions throughout the evening referencing that Bunch of Jerks, with Wool E. Bull and Hurricanes mascot Stormy leading the way. Further, Carolina's Pepsi Storm Squad and other Hurricanes-themed promotional items and materials will be on location at the DBAP.
Tickets for the game start at $9 at can be purchased at the link below. Additionally, a select number of tickets will be sold offering fans a ticket to the game and co-branded Bulls and Hurricanes hat for just $15, and that package can be purchased here.
A select number of hats and replica jerseys will be sold, in addition to the jersey auction. Hats and replica jerseys can be pre-ordered now, and are not yet available at the Ballpark Corner Store. Pickup/shipping dates are found in the product description online.
