The El Paso Chihuahuas scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday afternoon to come back and beat the Sacramento River Cats 7-5 at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas have won the first two games of the series against Sacramento and have won three in a row overall.

Trailing 5-2 with two outs in the eighth, Chihuahuas third baseman Mike Brosseau hit a three-run home run to tie the score. After catcher Cody Roberts walked, Tim Locastro hit a two-run homer to left field to put the Chihuahuas ahead. Sacramento put two runners on base with no outs in the top of the ninth but Ron Marinaccio pitched out of the jam for his first save of the season.

Locastro also had a walk, a hit by pitch and a stolen base in the win. Chihuahuas starter Stephen Kolek struck out four batters and didn’t walk any on Wednesday, giving him 20 strikeouts and four walks this season.
