Baysox Take Series Finale

The SeaWolves dropped the series finale to the Bowie Baysox, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at UPMC Park.
Bowie took the lead against Erie starter Alex Faedo in the top of the fourth inning. Ryan Mountcastle and Aderlin Rodriguez started the inning with back-to-back singles. Ysniel Daiz followed with a three-run home run to left for a 3-0 lead.
The lone SeaWolves run came in the ninth inning against Bowie reliever Branden Kline. Isaac Paredes led off and belted a solo home run, his second, to make it 3-1. Dominic Ficociello followed with a base hit before Kline retired the side in order to end the game, earning his 12th save.
Bowie starter Keegan Akin (14-6) was sharp in the winning effort. He hurled 6.2 shutout innings allowing four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
Faedo (1-6) dropped his sixth straight outing for the SeaWolves. He allowed three runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
The SeaWolves remain at home and host the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians) on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. Righty Spenser Watkins (0-0, 0.00 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Kyle Dowdy (0-3, 7.98 ERA).
