Bullpen Strong as 'Wolves Shut Out Fightins

Erie spot starter Joe Navilhon began the game firing two scoreless frames in his Erie debut. Navilhon allowed two hits with two walks and two strikeouts and worked out of a bases loaded jam in the second.
The 'Wolves then turned to reliever Liarvis Breto, who also made his Erie debut. Breto (1-0) earned the win tossing three scoreless innings, allowing two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
The SeaWolves took the lead in the fifth inning against Reading starter Franklyn Kilomé. Troy Montgomery led off with a double off the wall in left and moved to third on an Arvicent Perez sacrifice bunt. Sergio Alcántara singled home Montgomery for a 1-0 lead. Alcantara stole second and scored on a two-out Will Maddox base hit for a 2-0 advantage. Josh Lester followed with a walk and put two on for Blaise Salter. Salter doubled home both Maddox and Lester for a 4-0 advantage.  
Kilome (1-2) took the loss allowing four runs on five hits with four walks and a strikeout in 4.2 innings.
Gerson Moreno worked the final two innings for Erie and did not allow a hit. He struck out four hitters and earned his first save of the season.
The SeaWolves look for their first home series win on Monday night at UPMC Park against Reading at 6:05 p.m. Righty Kyle Funkhouser (0-3, 4.91 ERA) takes the mound for the SeaWolves against LHP Elniery García (0-4, 5.26 ERA).
