SeaWolves Take Down Curve in 11 Innings

It took 11 innings and the SeaWolves took down the Altoona Curve, 4-3, on Sunday night at PNG Field.
The SeaWolves struck first in the top of the third inning against Curve starter Scooter Hightower. Sergio Alcántara singled with two outs for Erie's first hit of the game. Alcantara took off on a 3-0 pitch to Willi Castro that he roped to center. On an error by centerfielder Bryan Reynolds, Alcantara scored sliding around a tag by the catcher on the throw in for a 1-0 lead.
Altoona took the lead on Erie starter Spencer Turnbull in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs, Turnbull walked Cole Tucker and Ke'Bryan Hayes and gave up a leadoff single to Bryan Reynolds. Will Craig singled home Tucker and Hayes to make it 2-1 Curve.
Erie regained the lead in the top of the seventh against reliever Logan Sendelbach. Isaac Paredes led off with a single and was doubled to third by Jake Rogers. Danny Woodrow singled home both baserunners to make it 3-2 SeaWolves.
Altoona tied the game in the eighth against Erie reliever Nick Tepesch. Tyler Gaffney led off with a double and moved to third on an Alfredo Reyes base hit. With one out, Hayes singled home Gaffney, tying the game. Caleb Theilbar was able to get Erie out of the inning with no further damage.
After both teams went scoreless in the 10th, Erie took the lead on Yeudy Garcia in the 11th. With the free runner Kody Eaves at second, a wild pitch moved him to third. Cam Gibson lifted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Eaves for a 4-3 lead.  
John Schreiber (2-6) earned the win for the SeaWolves tossing two scoreless frames in relief.
Garcia (2-5) took the loss allowing an unearned run in the 11th.
Hightower took a no-decision for Altoona allowing an unearned run on two hits with a walk and six strikeouts in five innings.
Turnbull took a no-decision. He allowed two runs on three hits with four walks and a strikeout in six innings.
