Bishop, Simpson key win on 4MOM Night

Simpson's 3-for-4 night leads AquaSox to series win over Spokane

EVERETT, Wash. - Braden Bishop hit a home run and made some great defensive plays to help the AquaSox to an 8-6 win over the Spokane Indians on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Bishop went 2 for 5 with a pair of RBIs as the Everett fans wore purple for 4MOM Night in support of Bishop's movement to help end Alzheimer's disease.

Join the AquaSox on Sunday, Aug. 23, for a 4:05 p.m. home game against Salem-Keizer. It will be the Seventh Annual AquaSox Car Show and a team poster giveaway for the first 1,000 fans. Tickets are available online at aquasox.com/tickets and in the front office at 3802 Broadway in Everett. RSVPs for the car show must be received by Friday, Aug. 21. Drew Jackson got scoring started in the first for Everett when he walked to lead off, took second on a passed ball, took third on a groundout, and scored on Logan Taylor's single. Taylor later scored on Alex Jackson's sac fly to center to give the AquaSox an early 2-0 lead.

Drew Jackson drew another walk in the second inning with two outs, and Bishop launched his home run to right field in the next at-bat to put Everett up 4-0.

The Frogs added one in the third on a sac fly and scored on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to go up 6-3. Spokane came back with a three-run top of the seventh to knot the game up at 6-all.

Corey Simpson then led off the bottom of the seventh with a home run to right field over the overhead door, his eighth long ball of the season. Ryan Uhl doubled in Yojhan Quevedo later in the inning to give the Frogs the lead for good, 8-6. Simpson finished the game 3 for 4, adding in a triple to his big night.

Matt Clancy pitched two innings of 2-hit ball to earn his fourth save for the AquaSox, striking out three and not allowing a walk or run.
