Frogs Fall In Salem-Keizer
KEIZER, Ore. - Drew Leenhouts allowed three base runners in six innings, while the Volcanoes sent eight batters through in a four run fifth inning and Salem-Keizer cruised to a 7-1 win over the AquaSox.
Leenhouts, a 2013 Northwest League All-Star, is back for his second tour of duty despite a league best nine wins a year ago. And after two subpar outings, he was on his game Monday night; in six innings he allowed two singles with no walks and struck out six.
The Volcanoes made it 5-0 in the fourth. Will Calloway's two-run double made it 3-0. Leonardo Fuentes added a sacrifice fly, while Fernando Pujadas capped the inning with a two-out RBI single. Newly acquired pitcher Jeffeson Medina (0-1) took the loss for Everett. Calloway finished 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in his series debut.
Brett Thomas doubled home Luke Guarnaccia for the AquaSox lone run in the seventh. Austin Cousino went 2-for-4.
