Frogs Finish Strong, 11-8

The ‘Sox surged ahead early, scoring seven runs before Tri-City struck

EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett AquaSox (42-22) maintained their lead the entire game, ultimately defeating the Tri-City Dust Devils (25-40), 11-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Frogs hopped ahead early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Joseph Rosa added to their lead the next inning, crushing a solo homer to left field for the Frogs’ fourth run of the game.

Jack Larsen hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the third, putting the Frogs ahead 6-0. An RBI single from Zach DeLoach in the fourth drove in Connor Hoover for the seventh run of the game.

Tri-City struck back in the fifth; Brendon Davis drove in their first run with a single while Jordyn Adams and Adrian Rondon each hit two-run homers. An RBI double and a Dust Devils’ fielding error in the bottom of the inning scored two more runs for the Frogs, putting the score at 9-5.

Kyle Kasser tacked on the Dust Devils’ sixth run with an RBI double in the top of the sixth, scoring when Davis singled later that inning. Solo home runs from Patrick Frick and Cody Grosse in the bottom of the sixth extended the Frogs’ lead, 11-7.

Franklin Torres answered the next inning with his own solo home run, scoring the final run of the game. RHP David Ellingson closed the game, allowing two hits and no runs to solidify the Frogs’ 11-8 victory.

WRAPPING IT UP

On the mound, RHP Taylor Dollard picked up his fourth win, pitching five complete innings with six strikeouts. At the plate, Everett registered 13 hits, including six doubles and four home runs. Frick went 3-for-4 with one double, one home run and three runs scored.

LOOKING AHEAD

The AquaSox hit the road on Tuesday, July 20 for a six-game series against the Vancouver Canadians. Tune in with Steve Willits here. They return to Funko Field on Tuesday, July 27 for a six-game series against the Eugene Emeralds. Tuesday, July 27 is the first Bark in the Park of the summer!
