Fayetteville, NC - Minor League Baseball has announced Carolina League All-Star teams following the conclusion of the 2023 season and three Woodpeckers have been named to the south division squad. Outfield Zach Cole, RHP Jose Fleury and RHP Tyler Guilfoil represent Fayetteville following strong campaigns with the Woodpeckers.

Cole was a two-time Carolina League Player of the Week and Player of the Month in June. He was also named the Houston Astros Minor League Player of the Month in June by Astros player development personnel. During his 70 game stretch with the Woodpeckers, Cole led the team in HR (11), RBI (46), Runs (48), OBP (.380) and OPS (.891). His 11 home runs held up as the team lead throughout the remainder of the season after his promotion to High-A Asheville.

Fleury, a 21-year-old from La Vega, Dominican Republic, was one of Fayetteville’s most consistent starters, pitching to a Carolina League Pitcher of the Month Award in August. Over six August games he pitched to a 2.55 ERA and compiled 39 strikeouts over 24.2 innings. He finished second on the team with 139 total strikeouts along with a steady 3.65 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over the span of 26 appearances and 98.2 total innings pitched.

Guilfoil pitched in 18 games, nine starts, for Fayetteville prior to earning a promotion to High-A Asheville on August 15th. The former Kentucky Wildcat and Lexington, Kentucky native had the lowest ERA (2.74) of all Fayetteville arms with at least 60.0 innings pitched. His strongest month of the season came in July, going 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA across five games with 30 strikeouts and just six walks over 20.2 innings.
