Alumni Spotlight - Ryan Mountcastle Finishes Sixth Season with Orioles

FREDERICK, MD – Former Frederick Keys infielder Ryan Mountcastle recently finished his sixth season with the Orioles this past September and has continued to stay consistent in the middle of the order for a surging Baltimore lineup.

In 2025, Mountcastle dealt with injury, but still managed to play 89 games and record a .250 average on the year. The Winter Springs, Florida native also totaled seven home runs and 35 RBIs, despite playing the fewest number of games since his rookie season in 2020.

During the 2021 campaign, he hit a career high 33 homers while bringing in 89 RBIs in his first full season in Major League Baseball. Later on in 2023 and 2024, Mountcastle saw the highest batting averages of his career of .270 and .271 respectively, leading the Orioles to back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time since 1996-1997.

While in the Key City in 2017, Mountcastle played 88 games and finished with a .314 average with 47 RBIs. Along with being named a Carolina League Post-Season All-Star, he quickly made the jump to Double-A Bowie (now Chesapeake) where he appeared in 33 games and brought home 15 RBIs.

Watch these and more future stars as the Frederick Keys make their return to affiliated baseball next season as the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The first home game will take place on Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. against the Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees) at the newly renovated Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Single-game tickets and the promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
