Trahan back, Maxwell activated

WOODBRIGE, VA - The Potomac Nationals announced four roster moves prior to Friday's game with Winston-Salem. Right-handed pitcher Carlos Martinez was placed on the 7-day disabled list, outfielder Justin Maxwell was activated from the disabled list, reliever David Trahan was received from double-A Harrisburg and Alex Nunez was released.

Martinez was placed on the disabled list with an arm injury, coming off a three-inning relief performance against Winston-Salem June 12. Martinez was 1-4 with a 4.95 ERA with Potomac in 18 games, nine starts.

Maxwell appeared in only three game with Potomac before landing on the disabled list with a leg injury. The Maryland native had a .538 average in those three games, with seven hits in 13 at-bats.

David Trahan returns to Potomac for his second stint with the team from Harrisburg. The right-hander was 0-2 with the Nationals in 14 relief appearances with a 3.97 ERA. Trahan appeared in five games with the Senators without receiving a decision and posted a 3.86 ERA.

Infielder Alex Nunez was released having appearing in three games with Potomac after being called up from Hagerstown. Nunez had four hits in 11 at-bats with the P-Nats and hit .271 for Hagerstown with six home runs and 23 RBI.
