Indianapolis (65-55) scored first with a big two-out swing in the fourth.
The lead was washed away in the bottom of the fifth before the rain picked up and halted the game. The inning began with four straight singles for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (62-56).
While it was raining throughout the bottom of the fifth, it transitioned to heavy rain after the home run and the game was halted and eventually deemed final. Tuesday's contest was originally set to be a doubleheader, but the challenging weather moved the second game to the series finale on Wednesday evening.
Wednesday's doubleheader with the RailRiders will get underway at 5:05 p.m. The Indians are on the road until Tuesday, August 21. To purchase tickets for any Indians home game, contact the Victory Field Box Office at 317-269-2282 or [email protected]. For more on the Tribe, visit IndyIndians.com.
