INDIANAPOLIS - Southpaw Andrew Moore tossed six efficient innings after a shaky first as Durham handed the Indians a 6-1 loss on Friday night. Indy saw its four-game winning streak come to an end despite Ryan Lavarnway and Kevin Newman extending their hitting streaks to 10 and nine games, respectively.

The Indians (39-32) scored the game's first run thanks to doubles by their two hottest hitters, Newman and Lavarnway. Moore was able to strand two men in scoring position, however, and the Bulls (40-31) offense plated six unanswered to run away with the series opener.
Brandon Lowe snuck a sharp line drive over the right-field wall for a two-run homer in the second to make it 2-1. He then walked and scored on a Nick Ciuffo double in the fourth to put Indy in a two-run hole.
Durham added a run in the fifth on a double play and two more in the seventh on an Adam Moore double. The visitors piled up 10 total hits and eight walks offensively.
Moore (W, 2-2) limited the Tribe to five hits and one walk with one strikeout. Alex McRae (2-7) gave up four earned runs on six hits and a season-high tying five walks in the loss. He struck out four. Colin Poche (S, 1) worked three perfect innings for the save.
Jordan Luplow pushed his hitting streak to a season-best eight games with a single in the third.
Indy failed to have a runner reach second base after its first-inning threat.
The Indians and Bulls play game two of their weekend series on Saturday night. Tribe right-hander J.T. Brubaker (4-2, 3.35) will oppose Durham righty Hunter Wood (2-1, 3.13). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
