INDIANAPOLIS - Less than 24 hours removed from a 7-6, 10-inning walk-off win, the Indians rallied but came up short in their series finale against the visiting Durham Bulls on Sunday, 2-1. The Indians threatened to tie or take the lead late, but Bulls reliever Andrew Kittredge retired Jordan Luplow on a game-ending groundout to give Durham the series win.

The Bulls (41-32) sealed the regular-season series over Indianapolis (40-33) for a second straight year behind Ryan Weber's six shutout frames and another Brandon Lowe home run.
Weber (W, 4-3) blanked the Tribe and yielded just five hits with three strikeouts. He was backed by a Kean Wong RBI single in the sixth and Lowe long ball to right in the eighth, his fourth home run of the series.
Catcher Arden Pabst - making his Triple-A debut - singled for Indy to start the eighth, his second hit of the game. He then reached second safely on a Kevin Newman grounder to third that was booted for an error. Max Moroff made the miscue hurt with a double into the right-field corner, scoring Pabst and moving Newman to third. The relay to home plate skipped away, prompting Newman to attempt to score, but he was tagged for out No. 2. Jung Ho Kang then struck out looking.
Wyatt Mathisen worked a two-out walk against Kittredge (S, 2) in the ninth but was stranded on the bases, one of six left on by the Tribe.
Brandon Waddell (L, 2-3) allowed both runs for the Tribe in relief of Casey Sadler who tossed five shutout innings on short notice. Sadler was inserted as Indy's starting pitcher Sunday morning when Clay Holmes was recalled by Pittsburgh.
The Indians begin a nine-game road trip on Monday night, starting with division-leading Toledo at Fifth Third Field. Tribe right-hander Nick Kingham (4-1, 2.06) will oppose Mud Hens left-hander Tyler Alexander (2-2, 5.91). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
