Indians Player of the Week (April 13-19): Tyler Eppler

INDIANAPOLIS - Tribe right-handed pitcher Tyler Eppler has been named Indians Player of the Week after earning wins in each of his two starts this past week. 

Eppler was dominant in starts against Toledo and Durham. In an outing at Fifth Third Field on April 13, he pitched 6.0 innings, allowing only one hit and one walk with four strikeouts in a 5-1 victory. The 24-year-old also pitched well at home against Durham on April 18, going 6.0 innings while surrendering two earned runs on six hits. He tallied four strikeouts in the Indians' 8-5 win. The two runs he yielded in the second inning against the Bulls snapped a 12.0-inning scoreless streak.  

 

Eppler (2-0, 1.06) is scheduled to take the mound again for the Tribe next Tuesday, April 25 at Pawtucket.

 

Honorable Mention: Jason Rogers was also in the running for Player of the Week as he hit .389 (7-for-18) with two home runs and five RBI from April 13-19. His performance at the plate this past week bumped his season average to .286 (12-for-42)
