I-CUBS DROP FOURTH IN A ROW TO SCRANTON
The Iowa Cubs (13-18, 43-60) fell to the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (20-9, 57-46) 9-5 on Friday evening at Principal Park. Scranton scored four runs in the second inning, all with two outs, to jump in front. The Railriders would two more runs with two outs in the sixth inning

Scranton scored four runs in the second inning, all with two outs, to jump in front. The Railriders would two more runs with two outs in the sixth inning to extend their lead. Owen Ayers drove in the only run of the game for Iowa in the sixth inning with an RBI single.
The RailRiders would add runs in the seventh and eighth innings to extend their lead. Iowa would go on to score three runs in the eighth inning on RBI singles by Kevin Alcantara and Chas McCormick, along with an RBI groundout by Greg Jones. Scranton and Iowa would each add one more run in the ninth inning, with Owen Miller driving in a run.
Chicago Cubs pitcher Edward Cabrera made his first appearance on Major League rehab. He pitched 1.2 innings, allowing three runs on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts. He threw 43 pitches, 26 for strikes.
