The I-Cubs fell behind 2-0 heading to the fourth but scored five runs on walks from Ben Cowles and Justin Dean and a hit-by-pitch from James Triantos as well as a single from Matt Shaw.
In the fifth, Iowa extended their lead to 6-2 on a single from Jordan Nwogu. The I-Cubs scored unanswered runs in the seventh as Chas McCormick scored on a wild pitch and again in the ninth as Cowles singled to make it 8-2. Toledo pulled back a run in the ninth, but Iowa held on for the win.
