NORFOLK, Va.Bryson Brigman lashed three hits, scored three runs, drove in a pair and stole a base and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp scored four runs in the seventh inning on Tuesday to best the Norfolk Tides 6-2 from Harbor Park.

With the game tied at two, Norfolk (74-75) starter Drew Rom (1-1) walked the first three batters of the inning. Brigman greeted new Tides reliever Anthony Castro with a two-run base hit to give Jacksonville (79-69) a 4-2 lead. After a pair of outs, Jesús Sánchez crushed a ground-rule double to plate two and widen the gap to 6-2.

In relief of Josh Rogers (4-7), who yielded just two runs on four hits in 6.0 innings, Colton Hock tossed 2.0 scoreless frames and George Soriano pitched a scoreless ninth to seal the victory.

The Jumbo Shrimp were able to jump in front in their first at-bats. Brigman doubled to begin the ballgame and moved to third on a ground out. Avisaíl García bounced an RBI single to right for the game’s first run.

Rogers ran into trouble in the fourth, giving up a leadoff single to Joseph Ortiz before walking Colton Cowser. Tyler Nevin followed with an RBI single and Yusniel Diaz’s sacrifice fly put the Tides in front 2-1.

The lead was short-lived, however. A Brigman double coupled with an error put the Jacksonville second baseman on third base. Ray-Patrick Didder’s flare base hit to center allowed Brigman to score the game’s tying run.

The Jumbo Shrimp close out the 2022 season with Wednesday’s 6:35 p.m. first pitch from Harbor Park. RHP Jeff Lindgren (3-3, 5.20 ERA) starts for Jacksonville against Norfolk RHP Chris Vallimont (6-6, 5.32 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:20 p.m. on ESPN 690 and www.espn690.com.
