JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Troy Johnston’s RBI double in the bottom of the seventh gave the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp a 2-1 lead over the Gwinnett Stripers before a storm rolled in a rain-shortened victory at 121 Financial Ballpark Tuesday night.

Jacksonville (68-70, 36-28) took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Tied at one, Jake Mangum singled on the first pitch of the inning and stole second. Two batters later, Johnston drove in Mangum with a double off Gwinnett (64-73, 31-31) reliever Lucas Luetge (L, 1-1) to put the Jumbo Shrimp in front 2-1. During the at-bat of Jorge Alfaro, a storm rolled in and the game was eventually called with one out in the bottom of the seventh, giving Jacksonville the win.

The Stripers took the initial lead in the top of the second. With one out, Chadwick Tromp singled and went to second on a walk from Yolmer Sánchez. Two batters later, Dalton Guthrie ripped an RBI single to put Gwinnett ahead 1-0.

Jacksonville knotted the score in the bottom of the second. With one out, Charles Leblanc singled and was thrown out at second as C.J. Hinojosa reached on a fielder’s choice. Mangum walked to put runners on first and second for Jacob Amaya, who singled in the tying run.
