Weenie Wednesday kicks off week-long home stand featuring Saturday fireworks
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (May 4, 2016) - The Kannapolis Intimidators open up a seven-day home stand on May 4 with the first Weenie Wednesday at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. The Intimidators host the Hagerstown Suns (Washington Nationals) for the first three games and the Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies) for the last four games. This home stand features a huge firework show on Saturday, May 7, presented by Cabarrus Eye Center and Cabarrus Magazine. Other highlights of this home stand include Thirsty Thursday, a tasteful "Freebie Friday", Cinco de Mayo, Social Media Night, Mother's Day, Belly Buster Monday, Arby's Two-for-Tuesdays and more! The Intimidators will welcome students from Cabarrus County Schools on Friday, May 6, and on Sunday, May 8, as part of the Reading All-Stars program, presented by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. The Reading All-Stars students, ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade, will be recognized for their academic accomplishments with a special pre-game parade at both games.

The Intimidators present a new promotion this season with Weenie Wednesday, featuring $1 Hot Dogs sponsored by Nathan's. Weenie Wednesdays are the only night of the week where fans can get their hot dog on and chow down on Hot Dogs for only $1 while watching baseball.

Thursday night includes an exciting Cinco de Mayo Celebration along with Thirsty Thursday presented by Buffalo Wild Wings at Exit 54/Afton Ridge Shopping Center featuring discounted drinks all game long. Grab a Corona Light from the stadium beer garden, and enjoy Intimidators baseball. Thursday is also Social Media Night where fans will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the game with different social media contests. This "Freebie Friday" won't go bacon your heart because the Intimidators have a great giveaway cooked up. The first 500 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a delicious sample of Smithfield Bacon. The Intimidators will also welcome students from Cabarrus County Schools being recognized for their achievements in the classroom through the Reading All-Stars Program presented by RCCC. Reading All-Stars will be recognized with free admission and with a pre-game parade. Parents, siblings, and guests of the student will receive reserved tickets for a discounted price of only $3.00 (must have Reading All-Star certificate at the time of purchase).

Kids Day Sunday presented by Cornerstone Church features pre-game player autographs (from 1:20 p.m. to 1:40 p.m.) and post-game kids run the bases. Plus all tickets for kids (ages 4-12) are only $5 in both reserved and general admission sections. The Kannapolis Intimidators are calling all mothers to come out for a grand slam of a time to celebrate Mother's Day at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System.

Bring your appetite to the ballpark for Belly Buster Night every Monday night at Intimidators Stadium in 2016 where fans can purchase an all-you-can-eat wristband for only $10 to enjoy a never-ending menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, fries, popcorn, funnel cakes, and more (excludes drinks, candy, and third-party vendors). Monday night games in 2016 are also Kannapolis Citizens Appreciation nights with free admission to Kannapolis residents courtesy of the City of Kannapolis (up to eight tickets with proof of residency - i.e., driver's license, electric bills, etc.).

Tuesday features Arby's Two-for-Tuesdays where fans can purchase 2-for-1 tickets with any Arby's proof-of-purchase at all Tuesday night games in 2016. This week's deals include 2-for-1 chicken sandwiches at the main concessions stand, 2-for-1 small popcorn at the snack shack, and 2-for-1 seat cushions in the Intimidation Station team store. Tuesdays are also Senior Club nights with between-inning BINGO presented by Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Associates.

The Intimidators are preparing for the 22nd season of professional baseball in Kannapolis and 16th season as a Chicago White Sox affiliate. Since the team's inception in 1995, a total of 85 players have gone from Kannapolis to the Major Leagues.
