Intimidators announce schedule for 2017

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 15, 2016) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and the South Atlantic League have announced the 2017 regular season schedule, which opens on Thursday, April 6, 2017, as the Intimidators host the Lakewood BlueClaws on Opening Night at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. Kannapolis will host 11 of the 13 other SAL teams during the 2017 campaign, including at least two home series against all Northern Division rivals.

The Intimidators will host their annual Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza on Monday, July 3, against the Delmarva Shorebirds and will play on the road on July 4. On Sunday, June 18, Kannapolis is home against West Virginia with Father's Day baseball at the ballpark.

The 2017 season, the 23rd year of professional baseball in Kannapolis and the team's 17th season as a White Sox affiliate, features 140 games with 70 at home and 70 on the road evenly split between two halves. Kannapolis will make road trips to 11 of the 13 other SAL cities, including three series to each in-state division rival Hickory and Greensboro as well as one road series in Asheville.

The Intimidators are currently playing the 22nd season of professional baseball in Kannapolis and 16th season as a Chicago White Sox affiliate.
