MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game series at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs with a 5-3 extra-inning victory on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Park.

First baseman Luken Baker came through in the clutch once again. Baker came to the plate in a tie game with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the tenth inning. The slugger crushed a pitch down the right-field line to clear the bases and deliver Memphis the victory. Baker finished the night 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and 3 RBI.

With the game tied at one in the top of the seventh inning, shortstop Juniel Qurecuto clubbed his fifth home run of the season to put Memphis in front 2-1. Memphis held that same lead until two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Connor Thomas put together another great start to continue his string of success. With 5.2 innings of one-run baseball, Thomas has now gone six consecutive appearances with 5.1 innings pitched or more and three or fewer earned runs allowed.

Jake Walsh (1-0, BS, 1) pitched portions of the bottom of the ninth and tenth to earn his first win in relief. Ryan Loutos (S,1) recorded the final out to earn his first save of the season.

The Redbirds (24-14) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, May 15 to begin a 12-game homestand. You can find more information on upcoming promotions at AutoZone Park here.
