Redbirds bats batter Tides pitching in big win

MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a 12-game homestand with a 10-3 win over the Norfolk Tides on Thursday night at AutoZone Park.

After Michael McGreevy tossed a scoreless top of the first inning, the Memphis bats jumped on Norfolk with four runs in the first. The Redbirds continued the onslaught with two in the second and three more in the fourth inning to take a 9-2 lead.

On the night, right fielder Moises Gomez led the way offensively. Gomez went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a 432-foot home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. The blast was his thrid home run in the alst two games and ninth of the season.

Designated hitter Jordan Walker and centerfielder Juniel Querecuto each drove in a pair as well. Walker finished the game 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored. Querecuto had a 3-for-4 night with an RBI single from both sides of the plate.

McGreevy (3-0) continued the great start to his Triple-A career. The right-handed pitcher tossed five innings, allowed two runs on six hits, walked one and struck out four. Andrew Suarez added three innings of one-run baseball in relief.
