Right-handed starting pitcher Gordon Graceffo (1-2) dominated in the Memphis 6-0 game one win. Graceffo tossed 5.0 innings of scoreless baseball, allowed three hits, walked two and struck out seven. The start marked the second consecutive scoreless start from a Redbird.
All six Memphis game one runs came in the fourth inning. Left fielder Alfonso Rivas opened the scoring with a two-run double. Designated hitter Jared Young later followed with a run-scoring single and catcher Nick Raposo capped the scoring with a two-run home run, his first long ball of the season.
The Redbirds bats went quiet in game two. Right fielder Matt Koperniak reached base three times with a 2-for-2 effort and tallied half of the Memphis hit total. Starting pitcher Adam Kloffenstein (0-2) allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out five in his 4.0 inning start.
