MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds dropped both ends of a doubleheader to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Friday night at AutoZone Park by final scores of 7-3 and 10-6, respectively.

In game one, it was the Luken Baker show. The first baseman drove in all three Memphis runs, including a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth.

Memphis starter Matthew Liberatore (3-3) finished strong but was dealt the loss. The left-hander allowed six earned runs on nine hits.

In game two, the Redbirds trailed by three in the bottom of the seventh inning. Third baseman Kramer Robertson came to the plate and drilled a three-run homer to left field, tying the game at five in the final inning of regulation. On the game, Robertson had five RBI and was a triple shy of the cycle.

Memphis threatened in the first inning of extras, but were robbed by Jacksonville left fielder Brian Miller, who made a great leaping catch at the wall and doubled off the runner at second base to end the inning. Jacksonville then took the lead with five runs in the top of the ninth inning.

With two out and a full count in the bottom of the ninth, Conner Capel doubled to bring the Redbirds within four, 10-6. That would be all Memphis would muster in the comeback.

Redbirds reliever Junior Fernandez (1-1) took the loss in game two. Daniel Castano (1-0) and Jimmy Yacabonis (2-1).
