The lead would grow to as large as 7-0 in the seventh frame. Lacroix tripled for his third hit of the night, driving in Valdez from first base. Costes followed with an RBI single up the middle to plate Lacroix and open up the widest margin of the night.
Cedar Rapids (4-8) did their only damage in the top of the ninth.
Dubin earned the win in his first start of the season by throwing 6.0 shutout innings. The right-hander allowed just one hit and struck out seven. After a first inning single, he retired the final 16 hitters he faced in the game.
Lacroix went 3-4 with a triple and two runs batted in to lead the way offensively for the Bandits. Pena and Schreiber extended their respective hitting streaks to eight games, Costes pushed his to seven and Dawson's reached six. Valdez reached base three times and has four extra-base hits in the last three days.
The River Bandits will continue playing in Cedar Rapids at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday night against the Kernels. The entire series was moved from Modern Woodmen Park due to limited access to the stadium. RHP
