GREENEVILLE, TN - The Pulaski Yankees (30-14) completed a three game sweep of the Greeneville Reds (17-26) with a 3-0 win Sunday night at Pioneer Park. The Reds lost all three games against Pulaski by three runs, and have now lost four in a row.
RHP Juan Abril (L, 1-5) started the night with three scoreless innings before running into trouble in the fourth. Chad Bell singled on the first pitch of the inning, and Saul Torres hit a two-run home run to left field on the second pitch to put the Yan- kees up 2-0. Gustavo Campero followed with a single, stole second, and scored on Madison Santos' RBI-single.
Abril took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits in five innings with a walk and five strikeouts. RHP Sean Boyle (W, 2-1) allowed three hits and a walk over three scoreless innings in relief with a strikeout. RHP Hayden Wesneski (S, 1) tossed a perfect ninth for his second save.
RHP Alberto Gonzalez allowed three hits and walked one over three scoreless innings. Gonzalez also struck out two. RHP Raul Wallace walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth.
Ivan Johnson reached base twice, extending his on-base streak to 18 straight games. Danielito Remy also reached base twice. Carlos Reina and Mike Spooner both reached base three times in the loss.
Greeneville will begin a three game series with the Bluefield Blue Jays Monday night at Pioneer Park, with first pitch at 6:30 PM. RHP Graham Ashcraft (2-2, 6.25) will start the opener for the Reds.
Monday night at Pioneer Park is Dollar Monday presented by the Econo Lodge, where fans can enjoy select $1 conces- sions. It is also Miracle Monday presented by Greene County Chamber of Commerce where non-profit organizations can come out and receive concourse tabling and tickets to promote what their campaign is all about.
