Tidewatchers Booster Club

2019 marks the Tidewatchers Booster Club's 47th year in supporting the Norfolk Tides! We are a dedicated and active organization that exists to promote baseball and the Norfolk Tides throughout the year at Harbor Park and in the Hampton Roads community.

Our Booster Club is always eager to add new members, and becoming a Tidewatcher is easy. During the season Membership Applications can be found at the Information Booth behind home plate on the Harbor Park Concourse or in the Tides Program sold at all home games. During the offseason and once the season is underway applications can also be obtained by contacting one of the Booster Club Board members listed at the bottom of this page, by attending one of our monthly meetings held in the "Hits at the Park" Restaurant in Harbor Park, or by clicking on the link below to obtain a printable version of the Tidewatchers Membership Application.

Except for December when we do not meet, our meetings are usually held at 7:15 PM on the last Monday evening of each month. Benefits of membership include monthly meetings with interesting guest speakers, monthly newsletters, the opportunity to meet your favorite Tides at the annual "Greet the Tides" Dinner, the chance to present Tidewatcher end-of-season awards to individual players, volunteering for the opportunity to greet the fans entering Harbor Park while passing out items on Promotion Nights, participating in bus trips to Major League and occasional out-of-town Minor League ballgames, and the chance to interact with others who share your passion for baseball.

Next Meeting

The next Tidewatchers monthly meeting will take place on Monday evening August 26, 2019 in the Hits at the Park Restaurant at Harbor Park. The Guest Speaker at that meeting will be Norfolk State University Athletic Director Marty Miller. Many local people are well aware of Marty and his accomplishments; but many do not know he was an NCAA College Division All-American baseball player at NSU and drafted by the Minnesota Twins. He is the winningest baseball coach in CIAA history and his overall baseball coaching record is an impressive 718-543-3. This will be his first time speaking to the Tidewatchers so please consider coming out to hear from one of our local baseball legends!

Tidewatchers Historian Dick Thorne is looking for items or information that document past Booster Club activities and events. Anyone having Tidewatchers, Tidewater Tides, or Norfolk Tides photos, memorabilia or other items of interest they would be willing to loan or donate to the Booster Club can contact Dick at (C) 757-635-5251 or
