Cedric Mullins hit a three-run homer to power a 10-hit attack, but the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders held off the Tides 7-6 Wednesday night at Harbor Park.

With the Tides trailing 7-3 in the sixth inning, Mullins belted a three-run homer over the Norfolk bullpen in right field to pull the Tides within 7-6. It was the fourth home run of the season for Mullins, who also walked, scored two runs and added a sacrifice bunt.

Scranton's bullpen made their slim lead hold up over the final three frames, as Danny Coulombe (1-0) and Joe Harvey combined to limit the Tides to two hits while striking out four. Coulombe earned the win with two shutout innings, while Harvey struck out three of the four batters he faced to earn his fourth save of the season.
Jace Peterson had three hits and an RBI for the Tides in the setback, while Mason Williams added two singles and an RBI.
Norfolk starter Tyler Herb (4-4) took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits over four innings of work. He struck out two without walking a batter and threw 48 of his 72 pitches for strikes, but he yielded a two-run homer to Mike Ford in a three-run first inning before surrendering a two-run home run to Tyler Wade in the fourth frame.
Thairo Estrada added a homer among three hits to help pace the RailRiders, who have now won five straight games to improve their league-best record to 38-25. Norfolk's setback was its fifth in a row.
The two clubs will wrap up their three-game set on Thursday afternoon at Harbor Park, with first pitch slated for 12:05. Tom Eshelman is set to make his Tides debut and will be opposed by right-hander Brody Koerner (3-0, 3.41).
Notes: The game was delayed by 42 minutes due to rain before the start of the fifth inning… After going just 1-for-32 with runners in scoring position over its previous four games, Norfolk went 4-for-10 with RISP in Wednesday's contest…Christopher Bostick had an RBI single and has now hit safely in seven of his last eight games.
