Following a leadoff double by Scott Kingery, Lehigh Valley got on the board in the top of the first inning on a groundout by Weston Wilson that gave the IronPigs a 1-0 lead. Then they tacked on another run in the top of the second inning to extend the lead to 2-0.

Then, Vavra, Johnson and Perez collected three straight RBI doubles to extend the Tides lead to 6-2 and knock out the IronPigs starter.
Norfolk extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth when Connor Norby hit an RBI double down the left field line to score Jackson Holliday. A ground ball from Kjerstad in the next at bat allowed Norby to score and gave the Tides an 8-2 advantage. Perez added on a final run in the inning on an RBI single that scored Vavra to give Norfolk their second straight four-run inning and a 10-2 lead.
The Tides continued to pile runs on in the bottom of the fifth, extending their lead to 11-2 when Kjerstad brought home Holliday with a sacrfice fly out. In the bottom of the sixth, Norfolk further added on when Norby launched an RBI double to bring in Holliday and give the Tides a 12-2 lead.
