March 14, 2007
The RedHawks dropped their spring training opener 6-5 on Wednesday to the Fresno Grizzlies at the San Francisco Giants' minor league complex in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Adam Fox went 1-3 with a solo home run, while Jake Blalock and Jared Sandberg each went 2-3 with a double. Jim Fasano added an RBI single for the RedHawks.

Each team had 10 hits.

Among the pitchers, 2004 first-round pick Eric Hurley tossed two scoreless innings, striking out one. Righthander Armando Galarraga, also a possible 2007 Redhawk, chipped in two scoreless and hitless innings with one strikeout.

The RedHawks take on the Omaha Royals Thursday afternoon at the team's shared complex in Surprise, Ariz.
