OKC Dodgers Host Playoff Games Wednesday and Thursday

Back-to-back division champs to play Nashville in best-of-five series

OKLAHOMA CITY - The back-to-back American Northern Division champion Oklahoma City Dodgers open play in the PCL American Conference playoffs Wednesday, Sept. 7 against the Nashville Sounds at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers and American Southern Division champion Sounds will play the first two games of their best-of-five playoff series in Oklahoma City. Game 1 will take place at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday and Game 2 will be at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Thursday is a $2 Thursday and fans can enjoy $2 soda, water and select beers throughout the game.

Games 3-5 of the playoff series will take place at First Tennessee Park in Nashville, Tenn.

Oklahoma City (81-60) clinched its ninth division title since joining the PCL in 1998 and back-to-back titles for the first time since the 2004 and 2005 seasons. The Dodgers enter the postseason on a six-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 games.

The Dodgers pitching staff set a PCL modern era record with 1,245 strikeouts this season. OKC also became the first team since Sacramento in 2004 to lead the league in strikeouts, while also allowing the fewest walks in the league (372). The Dodgers' 3.72 ERA this season established a new club record since the team joined the PCL in 1998.

The Sounds (83-59) finished the regular season with the best record in the PCL and pace the league with 47 road victories. Nashville's 3.42 ERA also leads the league. This marks the Sounds' first trip to the playoffs since 2007.
