Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers hit a season-high three home runs as they defeated the Iowa Cubs, 8-5, in the series finale between the teams Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Pitcher Daniel Corcino hit his first career homer in the second inning, while Matt Beaty connected on his first of the season in the sixth inning and Kyle Garlick hit his team-leading fourth homer of 2019 in the seventh inning.

With Monday's win, the Dodgers (7-11) snapped a five-game losing streak and avoided a series sweep against the Cubs as the teams combined for six total homers in the game.
Iowa (11-7) grabbed a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning with Ian Happ and Jim Adduci each hitting two-run homers.
Garlick led off the bottom of the second inning with a single and later with two outs, Corcino belted a two-run homer out to left field to cut Iowa's lead to 4-2. The home run was the first by a Dodgers pitcher since Tyler Pill homered in the first game of a doubleheader Aug. 19, 2018 against Iowa in OKC.
Corcino hit a sacrifice bunt in the fourth inning and Iowa first baseman Jim Adduci's throw toward third base went down the left field line, allowing a run to score for Oklahoma City. Iowa starting pitcher Duane Underwood Jr. then intentionally walked Daniel Castro to load the bases for Beaty, who grounded out allowing the game-tying run to score.
Oklahoma City catcher Will Smith's two-run single later in the fourth inning extended Oklahoma City's lead to 6-4.
The Cubs had a chance to add runs in the sixth inning, loading the bases with one out, but Dodgers pitcher Joe Broussard retired the next two batters to escape the jam and keep Oklahoma City's two-run lead.
In the bottom of the inning, Beaty's solo homer landed in the Iowa bullpen and extended the Dodgers' lead to 7-4. A solo homer by Iowa's Cristhian Adames in the top of the seventh inning trimmed Oklahoma City's lead to 7-5.
Garlick's solo homer out to left field in the seventh inning extended the Dodgers' lead to 8-5 as Garlick finished a game-leading 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
Dodgers starting pitcher Corcino (1-1) picked up his first win of the season, allowing four runs (two earned) and two walks with three strikeouts. Along with his home run, he collected two RBI and scored two runs.
Dodgers pitcher Jaime Schultz retired all three batters he faced in the top of the ninth inning for his first save of the season with OKC.
Iowa starting pitcher Underwood Jr. (0-3) was charged with the loss, allowing six runs on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts as the Cubs won the series, 3-1.
After a league-wide day off Tuesday, the Dodgers open a five-game road series against the San Antonio Missions at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, making their first trip to Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.
