Woodbridge, VA---In honor of the 25th anniversary of The Mighty Ducks movie, the Potomac Nationals will host Matt Doherty, who played Les Averman throughout the Mighty Ducks Trilogy, as part of "Mighty Ducks Night" at Pfitzner Stadium on Saturday, July 22nd presented by Paxton Companies.

Doherty, who appeared in the first Mighty Ducks movie in 1992, made his on-screen debut in the 1990 classic Home Alone, where he played a small role. His first major role, and three of his first four main roles came in the Mighty Ducks trilogy as the lovable Les Averman, who provided many comic relief elements throughout the trio of movies.

Since the end of the Mighty Ducks franchise in 1996, Doherty has made numerous appearances on various network television shows. The 38-year-old appeared on ER in 2000, Boston Public in 2001, CSI: Miami in 2007, Bones in 2008, CSI in 2009, and Grey's Anatomy in 2011. Doherty also had a small role in the Oscar winning movie Argo in 2012.

A graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Doherty was nominated for a "Young Artist Award" along with the cast of the original Mighty Ducks movie in 1993. Doherty is a lifetime member of The Actor's Studio as an actor, director, and playwright. Matt was last seen on FOX's ROSEWOOD and the hit independent comedy MARON.

On Saturday, July 22nd, the P-Nats will also feature Les Averman in bobblehead form presented by Paxton Companies. The first 1,250 fans that enter Pfitzner Stadium that night will take home a one-of-a-kind bobblehead featuring the Mighty Ducks star. Gates are set to open at 5:00pm for this special celebrity appearance. Doherty will sign autographs, take photos with fans, and throw out a ceremonial first pitch before that night's game between Potomac and the Lynchburg Hillcats (Cleveland Indians).

Doherty's appearance will complement another fireworks spectacular at The Pfitz, the Les Averman bobblehead, and the third scout night of the season. The P-Nats will also wear custom Mighty Ducks themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off throughout the game and signed at the conclusion of the night, with all proceeds to benefit the National MS Society.

More information on Mighty Ducks-themed contests, promotions, and activities will be announced closer to The Mighty Ducks 25th Anniversary Night at Pfitzner Stadium.
