Potomac Nationals Reveal 2014 Schedule

Woodbridge, VA-The Potomac Nationals have unveiled their 2014 Carolina League schedule for the 37th campaign in franchise history. The 140-game regular season slate features 70 home games at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium.

The P-Nats begin the '14 season on the road against the Carolina Mudcats (Cleveland Indians) on Thursday, April 3rd before returning home for Opening Day on Tuesday, April 8th at The Pfitz as the Nationals host the Lynchburg Hillcats (Atlanta Braves) for a three-game series.

The P-Nats' opening homestand continues with Potomac welcoming in Carolina for a quartet of contests from Friday, April 11th to Monday, April 14th.

The Nationals' home schedule is highlighted by a club record 18 fireworks shows and 27 giveaway nights.

Middle School Science Day will take place on Thursday, April 10th as the Nationals take on Lynchburg while Summer Camp & Day Care Days are planned for Wednesday, July 30th with the Nationals facing the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Texas Rangers) and Thursday, August 7th as Potomac clashes with the Winston-Salem Dash (Chicago White Sox).

The P-Nats will honor Mother's Day on Sunday, May 11th with a game vs. Myrtle Beach before ushering in a Father's Day celebration on Sunday, June 15th as Potomac battles Winston-Salem.

The hallmark staple of the Potomac Nationals' schedule, Independence Day weekend, will be underscored with Friday, July 4th post-game fireworks festivities. Potomac plays the Pelicans through Sunday, July 6th and there will be a fireworks extravaganza after each game during the holiday weekend series.      

The 2014 Carolina League All-Star Break will run from Monday, June 16th through Wednesday, June 18th with the California League/Carolina League All-Star Game scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th in Wilmington, Delaware at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Kansas City Royals). The All-Star classic will feature the best prospects from the Carolina League and the California League circuits.

Fan Appreciation Night on Monday, August 25th with the Nationals set to take the field against the Frederick Keys (Baltimore Orioles) will culminate the P-Nats' 2014 home ledger.   

Game times for Potomac Nationals' 2014 home and road games in addition to a preliminary promotional schedule are to be determined and will be announced at a later date.
