Washington Nationals Director of Player Development, Mark Scialabba, to Appear at 19th Annual P-Nats Hot Stove Auction

Woodbridge, VA-The Potomac Nationals are pleased to announce Washington Nationals Director of Player Development, Mark Scialabba will be in attendance at the 19th annual Potomac Nationals Hot Stove Banquet and Silent Auction which will be held on Sunday, January 26th at the Hyatt Fairfax at Fair Lakes in Fairfax, Virginia.

Scialabba will appear alongside Potomac Nationals Field Manager, Tripp Keister, and 2013 P-Nats Player of the Year, Michael Taylor.

Scialabba plans to address the hot stove banquet crowd made up of fans, booster club members, sponsors, and the general public to discuss the "State of the Nats" and the expectations of the Potomac Nationals.

"We are very pleased to host Mark Scialabba at our hot stove banquet. On behalf of our franchise, we congratulate Mark on his recent promotion and look forward to hearing his outlook for the makeup of our club in 2014," said Potomac Nationals Vice President and General Manager, Josh Olerud.

Scialabba joined the Washington Nationals in 2006 and served as Director of Minor League Operations from October of 2009 through November of 2013 when he received a promotion to his current role. Scialabba works in conjunction with Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Player Development, Doug Harris on all aspects of Washington's player development operation including contracts, roster management, budgets, and player personnel decisions. He graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts, where he also played baseball. Scialabba eventually earned an MBA and Masters in Sport Management at the University of Massachusetts.

A sprawling silent sports memorabilia auction will benefit S.P.A.R.K. (Supporting Partnerships and Resources for Kids), the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools.

Sports collectables from around the Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball lanscapes will be showcased in addition to memorabilia from the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, and the National Hockey League.

Hallmark items include an autographed Bryce Harper baseball and an autographed Jayson Werth bat courtesy of the Washington Nationals, a mini basketball signed by Chris Singleton donated by the Washington Wizards, and a Frank "Hondo" Howard inscribed two-tone bat signed during his public appearance at Pfitzner Stadium during the 2013 season.

Many more unique items from the professional sports world will be available for silent auction bidding.

The full program will take place from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the Hyatt Fairfax within their spacious grand ballroom.

The banquet and silent sports auction is open to the public and tickets are still available.

The deadline for reserving seats to the banquet is Wednesday, January 22nd by 12:00pm.

Hot stove banquet tickets will not be available on the day of the event.
