Blue Wahoos Work to Find Offseason Employment for Seasonal Staff Members

Job placement program benefits staff and local businesses
September 3, 2014

With the completion of the 2014 baseball season, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos are again working to find offseason or permanent jobs for the organization's seasonal employees. The program, the first of its kind in the professional sports industry, assists seasonal team members who wish to find another job outside of the Blue Wahoos in the offseason. The job placement program began after the team's inaugural season and was created to not only help its employees, but to also benefit local businesses in need of high achieving employees.

Every Blue Wahoos team member goes through several orientation programs before each season starts, has extensive trainings within their respective departments and passed a background check. The entire full-time front office staff also went through leadership training and used a state-of-the-art objective evaluation method that is built on employee accountability - skills that benefit the development of all part-time and seasonal staff. All full and part-time staff stay committed to high standards of behavior, ethics and performance primarily due to these extensive training sessions and methods.

Survey results show fans continue to appreciate the game day experience at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium and that is a direct reflection of the organization's hardworking employees. 93% of fans rank a Blue Wahoos game as "outstanding" - the highest survey ranking possible. Further, the team's Net Promoter Score (NPS), a tool used to gauge customer satisfaction across a multitude of industries, is coming in at a solid 83 on a scale of 1-100.

Blue Wahoos seasonal employees have experience in creative services, sales, customer service, finance, food and beverage, groundskeeping, housekeeping, security and ticketing and box office operations. Businesses looking to employ a Blue Wahoos team member should contact the Dick Baker in Human Resources department at (850) 934-8444 or [email protected].
