The Wahoos suffered their worst loss of the season after Chattanooga scored 13 runs in the final two innings to win Wednesday’s game, 16-3 at AT&T Field.

Pensacola got out to an early lead after JJ Bleday belted a solo home run in the top of the first to get the Wahoos on the board. However, the Lookouts tagged starter Jeff Lindgren for three runs in the bottom of the first, capped off by a two-run home run from Yoel Yanqui.

Neither team scored again until the game was in bottom of the seventh.

At that point, the usually sparkling bullpen for the Wahoos faltered. Three different relievers surrendered 13 runs, including 8 runs in the bottom of the eighth to seal the blowout.

Nick Louvullo salvaged two runs in the top of the ninth when the infielder hit a two-run homer off former first round pick Nick Howard. For Lovullo, it was his first home run of the season.

The series continues Thursday night as the Wahoos will be sending LHP Will Stewart (1-2, 3.96) on the mound. He will be opposed by RHP Ricky Salinas (2-0, 4.24). First pitch is slated for 6:15 CT, with coverage available at ESPN Pensacola and at bluewahoos.com.
