Sea Dogs Run Away With 15-4 Win Against Fisher Cats

Manchester, NH - The Portland Sea Dogs (20-15)(55-48) batted around and plated eight runs in the ninth inning to run away with a 15-4 win against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (13-18)(49-53), tying the series 1-1.
Matt Fraizer was four-for-five at the plate with two doubles, two runs scored, and five RBI. Three of Fraizer’s RBIs came with two outs. Tyler McDonough was three-for-five with two runs scored and five RBI as well. McDonough homered twice in the top of the ninth inning, putting the exclamation point on the Sea Dogs’ exciting day at the plate. Mason White and Ahbram Liendo both had multi-hit games as well.
Portland got on the board first in the top of the third when Fraizer came through with his first of four RBI hits. New Hampshire tied it in the bottom half with a Nick Goodwin RBI double.
The Sea Dogs retook the lead with two runs scored in the fifth. Frazier hit an RBI double and McDonough hit an RBI single.
New Hampshire scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie it at 3-3.
In the top of the sixth, Liendo drove in White with a single, and Fraizer had another RBI double to score two more, leaving Portland in the lead 6-3.
Will Turner hit a solo home run in the seventh, his 12th of the season, and the Fisher Cats plated one more in the eighth with a Cutter Coffey RBI single.
Leading 7-4, the Sea Dogs led off the ninth inning with a solo home run from Tyler McDonough. They proceeded to bat around in the inning, tying their season high with eight runs scored in the inning. McDonough hit a second home run in the same inning, a three-run shot, to cap off the 15-4 win.
RHP Max Carlson (4-2, 4.85 ERA) earned the win, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work. RHP Austin Marozas (1-1, 8.53 ERA) was handed the loss, allowing five runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 2.2 innings pitched. RHP Jedixson Paez (S, 3) earned the save, and is scheduled to start for the Sea Dogs on Sunday.
The Sea Dogs and the Fisher Cats continue their series tomorrow night. LHP Hayden Mullins (3-3, 5.52 ERA) will face off against RHP Nolan Perry (0-0, 0.00 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 6:03 pm at Delta Dental Stadium.
