Alec Keller Named Carolina League Player of the Week

Woodbridge, VA---The Carolina League announced that Potomac Nationals OF Alec Keller  has been named the Carolina League Player of the Week for the week of June 4th to June 10th. It is the third "Player of the Week" award for a Potomac player in the first half of the 2018 season.
Keller, who first played with Potomac back in 2015, has been scorching hot since he joined the P-Nats on May 11th. This past week, Keller went 13-23 (.565), with five extra-base hits and four RBIs. The 26-year-old raised his batting average from .292 to .380 over the past week. With three hits in Monday's doubleheader against the Salem Red Sox, Keller has currently picked up at least one hit in eight straight games, and multiple hits in six of the past eight games.

A 17th round pick by the Washington Nationals out of Princeton in 2014, Keller played in 53 games for Potomac in 2015, spent the entire 2016 season with The Red, White, & Blue, and then spent all of 2017 with the Double-A Harrisburg Senators. With Harrisburg last year, Keller his .264 with three home runs and 18 RBIs in 77 games.
This is the first "Player of the Week" award for Keller as a professional, though he was named a Mid-Season Carolina League All-Star with Potomac in 2016.
The P-Nats are back in action on Tuesday night, as they will play game three of a five-game series vs. the Salem Red Sox (Boston). First pitch is set for 7:05pm.
