Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (1-0) turned to dominant pitching and timely hitting to kick off the 2026 season, and their re-affiliation with the Los Angeles Angels, by defeating the Inland Empire 66ers (0-1) 4-2.

Four Quakes arms set the tone, holding the Inland Empire offense in check. Dylan Jordan dazzled in his five-inning start, not permitting a run or a walk, scattering three hits while fanning eight. Yokelvin Reyes (1-0), Jaren Warwick, and Jakob Guardado followed up out of the bullpen, putting together four strong innings in relief, stranding five base runners and combining for four strikeouts to shut the door.

Meanwhile, Lucas Ramirez left a strong impression at the dish in his Single-A debut. In a 3-for-4 performance, he notched two extra-base hits and two go-ahead hits. His second-inning infield single brought home the game's opening run, and a sixth-inning automatic double broke a 1-1 deadlock, setting the stage for a three-run rally that proved to be the difference maker. Ramirez also added a two-out two-bagger in the bottom of the eighth to cap off his night.

Marlon Quintero lifted a sacrifice fly, and Anyelo Marquez ripped an RBI double to back up Ramirez's second lead-supplying knock in the bottom of the sixth, providing the rest of the offense that helped the Quakes see the game through.

The Quakes turn to RHP Trey Gregory-Alford on Friday night in the middle game of this three-game Opening Week series against LHP Mason Peters for Inland Empire in his professional debut. The first 1,500 fans through the gates at Morongo Field will receive a Red Rancho Jersey to celebrate the new Angels affiliation, and there will be a post-game fireworks spectacular immediately following the action.
