Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes will be represented quite well in this year's edition of the All-Star Game, as six players will head to Lancaster for the annual event.
Of the six players, four of them will be in the starting lineup, as Gavin Lux will start at shortstop, Rylan Bannon will start at third base, Connor Wong will be the starting catcher and Logan Landon will man one of the starting outfield spots.
In addition, pitchers Dean Kremer and Tony Gonsolin have also been named to the South Division squad.
A former first-rounder, Lux is hailed as one of the Dodgers' top prospects and is enjoying his finest season as a pro. The Kenosha, Wisconsin native is batting .300 with eight long-balls and 33 RBIs.
Bannon entered the recent home stand as the home run leader in the Cal League, but was passed by fellow All-Star Roberto Ramos of Lancaster. Bannon leads the league in extra-base hits (31), has 15 homers (second in the league), 39 RBIs (third in the league) and is hitting .294 on the season.
Landon, who missed most of last season after having shoulder surgery, is having quite the comeback year, batting .283 in 48 games with seven homers, 23 RBIs and ten stolen bases.
Wong got off to a red-hot start in April, leading the team in homers (eight) and picking up 17 RBIs. The Houston, Texas native is currently hitting .243 with 11 round-trippers and 29 RBIs.
Both Kremer and Gonsolin are in their second Cal League seasons, and are in the league's top-10 for ERA, respectively.
Kremer sports a record of 5-2 with an earned run average of 3.43 (ninth in the league). The Stockton, California native currently leads all Cal League pitchers with 90 strikeouts.
A Vacaville, California native, Gonsolin's ERA is sixth in the league at 3.12, while he has a win-loss record of 3-2.
The Lancaster JetHawks will host this year's California League All-Star Game at The Hangar on Tuesday, June 19th. Southern Rock Legends "38 Special" will perform a special concert the night before, on Monday, June 18th. For more information on this year's event, visit jethawks.com.
