"Last season, we made a concerted effort to survey our fans and ask how we can improve the Red Sox experience," Red Sox President and General Manager Ryan Shelton said. "One big thing we kept hearing was that fans wanted the Salem Sox to return to broadcast radio. With that directive from the fanbase, we worked with our friends at ESPN 1240 to make this return possible.

"We are grateful and excited to rekindle this relationship."

"Baseball broadcasts on the radio are a great tradition that many of us grew up with," 3 Daughters Media Chief Operating Officer Rich Roth said. "ESPN Radio in Virginia is thrilled that the fans want their games back on the radio, and we are thrilled to renew our partnership with the Salem Red Sox and help them give the fans what they want."

Fans will be able to enjoy the sounds of Salem Red Sox baseball all season long, as Gellman brings his years of broadcasting experience to the airwaves for Salem. In addition to the strong radio footprint of ESPN Roanoke, the stream of the broadcast can be accessed at SalemSox.com.

The radio broadcasts and the new 36-foot-wide video board at LewisGale Field offer new and exciting opportunities for partnership with the Red Sox. For more information on partnering with the Red Sox, interested parties can call the team's front office at 540-389-3333.

The skills competition will take place at historic Kiwanis Field, the original home of Carolina League baseball in Salem. All 2017 Salem Red Sox season ticket holders will have tickets to the skills competition and the All-Star Classic included in their ticket package.
