Amarillo Holds On for 5-3 Victory Over Missions
AMARILLO (September 10, 2026) — The Amarillo Sod Poodles defeated the San Antonio Missions 5-3 on Thursday night at Hodgetown, picking up their third win of the series. The Sod Poodles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second. Jean Walters notched a two-run triple, scoring McLaughlin and Serretti.
AMARILLO (September 10, 2026) — The Amarillo Sod Poodles defeated the San Antonio Missions 5-3 on Thursday night at Hodgetown, picking up their third win of the series.
The Sod Poodles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second. Jean Walters notched a two-run triple, scoring McLaughlin and Serretti.
San Antonio got on the board in the third, as Brendan Durfee ripped a solo home run to right. The catcher now has four long balls this season. The next batter Kai Roberts ripped a long ball to left, making it back-to-back homers for the Missions and evening the game at 2.
Amarillo took the lead back in the third on an RBI groundout for Angel Ortiz.
Ryan Jackson evened the game once again in the fourth, ripping a solo blast to left-center.
Two more solo home runs decided the contest in favor of the Sod Poodles. Alberto Barriga gave them a 4-3 lead in the fourth, and Danny Serretti hit another solo homer in the sixth to make it 5-3.
That two-run advantage held up, as the Missions were held scoreless after the fourth inning.
San Antonio is now 6-15 against Amarillo this season.
