LAS VEGAS--San Antonio scored five time over the last two innings to pull out a 5-2 win over the Aviators on Saturday night at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Tyler Saladino drove in two runs in the eighth inning with a single to tie the score. David Freitas followed with a go-ahead single to right field to give the Missions a 3-2 lead while extending his hitting streak to seven games. San Antonio had managed only two singles across the first seven innings of the game.
Keston Hiura added some insurance when he blasted a two-run shot in the ninth inning that cleared the swimming pool area and exited the stadium. It was Hiura's team-leading 13th homer of the year and his second since rejoining the club from Milwaukee earlier on the current road trip.
Jay Jackson retired all seven hitters that he faced to earn the win. Jackson struck out the side in the ninth.
Thomas Jankins worked 5 2/3 innings in his ninth start of the year for the Missions. Jankins pitched well, holding the Aviators at bay until surrendering a pair of solo homers in the fifth inning.
