SAN ANTONIO (May 2, 2025) — San Diego Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill will join the San Antonio Missions on a rehab assignment on Saturday, May 3 at Wolff Stadium. Saturday’s first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m., while Sunday’s start is set for 1:05 p.m.
Merrill played 46 games with the Missions in 2023. He made the jump straight from San Antonio to San Diego in 2024, where he became an MLB-All Star and Silver Slugger Award winner. Merrill also finished in second place for National League Rookie of the Year voting, hitting .292 with 24 home runs and 90 RBIs in San Diego.
While in San Antonio, Merrill hit .273 with five home runs and 31 RBIs. The Baltimore, Md. native is still just 22-years old and is already one of baseball’s premier players.
