Think you can launch one out of PNC Field like the RailRiders do? Now is your chance to try during the RailRiders University Youth Home Run Derby on June 10!

As part of Major League Baseball's Play Ball Weekend, kids between the ages of eight and 14 can participate in the RailRiders University Youth Home Run Derby. Each age bracket has a designated time on June 10 and registration is limited to 30 participants.

Each participant will have TEN swings at the fence in the first round and a points-based system will be in place based on distances within the field of play.

The top two point totals in each age bracket will advance to the final round with one champion per group.

Rules and Point System

The competition is limited to 30 children per age group and is based on a point system. The children with the two highest point totals in each age group will advance. Each participant will need to use their own helmet and bat.

First round- Ten swings

Second Round- Five Swings

Point System

Infield - 1 point
Mid-Outfield - 3 points
Outfield - 5 points
Warning Track - 7 points
Home Run - 10 points

Tie-Breaker (Any Round) - Three Swings and the best tally advances/ wins
