ST. PAUL, MN (June 6, 2025) - With another Saints arm on his way to the major leagues, the St. Paul Saints have shuffled their bullpen and added a seasoned reliever with experience at the Triple-A level. In conjunction with the Minnesota Twins, the St. Paul Saints announced the promotion of right hander Cody Laweryson to the Triple-A roster on Friday.

Originally a 14th round pick by the Twins in 2019, Laweryson has spent the last two seasons in Double-A, including running a 2.89 ERA across 17 appearances with Wichita so far this season. Serving as the Wind Surge’s primary closer this year, he has struck out 20 (26 K%) and walked just four (5 BB%) across 18.2 innings while converting all six of his save opportunities. His 5% walk rate marks a career-low rate. Prior to his call up, he had now allowed an earned run in his last eight appearances, a stretch where he allowed just two unearned runs across 10.1 innings in which he struck out 10, walked three, and allowed just seven hits. He hasn’t allowed an earned run since May 7 and has allowed one run or fewer in 14 of his 17 appearances so far this season.

Laweryson, 27, pitched the entirety of the 2023 season with the Saints and makes his return to the Triple-A level for the first time since then. Two years ago in a St. Paul uniform, the Bingham, Maine product made 32 appearances and produced a 4.80 ERA while striking out a batter per inning with 51 punchouts (a 22% K-rate) and 25 walks (an 11% BB-rate) in 50.2 innings. 16 of Laweryson’s games were scoreless appearances.

A Maine native, Laweryson pitched for three seasons at the University of Maine from 2017-19 prior to signing with the Twins. He was an All-America East Conference pick after moving to the Black Bears rotation as a junior in 2019.

In a corresponding move, right hander Travis Adams was recalled by the Minnesota Twins, becoming the 10th member of the Saints called up to the big leagues this year. The call up marks Adams’ first promotion to the Twins 26-man roster, joining Luke Keaschall, Ryan Fitzgerald, and Carson McCusker as first-time call ups from the Saints roster this year. In addition, the Saints added left-handed Kody Funderburk who was optioned to the Saints to make room for Adams. The Saints roster now stands at 27, one shy of the league maximum of 28, with 15 pitchers and 12 position players.
