Buffalo (46-42) took control of the game in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied 4-4, Roemon Fields led off the frame with a walk. Later in the inning, with two runners on and one out, Jordan Patterson doubled to score Bichette and make it 6-4 Buffalo. From there, back-to-back RBI singles from Richard Ureña and Brad McKinney extended the Bisons lead to 8-4.
Syracuse (42-47) countered with one run in the bottom of the sixth inning. After singles from Danny Espinosa and Dilson Herrera, Travis Taijeron doubled to score Espinosa and make it 8-5.
