Sneak peek at new menu items: Chicken & Waffles

The 'chicken and waffle' craze is coming to Fifth Third Field! The chefs with A Cut Above Catering have been experimenting in the kitchen and have come up with their own sweet and salty version of the culinary wave that's sweeping the country.

The new mouth-watering Chicken and Waffle Bites will be served at the Hen & Hound Eatery & Pub. Craig Nelson, President of A Cut Above Catering, says the concept started with making a chicken sandwich coated in a waffle batter, and that led to their creation of boneless chicken wings coated in a maple-flavored breading, served on a large Belgian waffle served with warm maple syrup.

As far as the other new menu items, you'll have to wait until the big unveiling on Thursday, March 20!

Mud Hens Opening Day is Friday, April 4 at 4 p.m. This year's opener is extra special, because it'll be followed by hockey action at the Huntington Center, as the Toledo Walleye play a home game at 7:15 p.m. Fans can get 'Opening Day Doubleheader' ticket packages for just $25 that provide access to both games on this historic day.
